Abstract

INCREASING COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION OF SLUM SETTLEMENT IN KELURAHAN KOTALAMA, KOTA MALANG Abstract Kotalama is one of the villages in the slum category in Malang City. Community participation in Kotalama Village, Malang City is categorized as low due to lack of community participation in slum quality improvement programs. The lack of community involvement in this case is because the program holders do not involve the community in the development process, in other words the community in Kotalama Village is only functioned as an object. Therefore this study aims to determine the increase in community participation in Kotlama Village based on the desire to participate in participation in the future.. Data collection methods used in this study are observation and questionnaires. Data analysis method used is descriptive method, Arnstein scoring method, and descriptive method. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen 1) the form of community participation in improving the quality of slum settlements in Kotalama Village, 2) the level of community participation in improving the quality of slum settlements in Kotalama village, 3) increasing community participation in improving the quality of slums in Kotalama. The highest form of community participation in Kotalama Village is on the aspect of the environment. While the lowest level of community participation is in Kotalama Village at the Therapy level and the highest is in Manipulation. The highest increase in community participation in the form of participation is found in environmental aspects of the road, while the highest increase in community participation in the level of participation is found in the aspect of solid waste management.
