Abstract

Asam nitrat (HNO3) adalah cairan korosif asam kuat yang diproduksi secara komersial melalui proses oksidasi ammonia dan reaksi selanjutnya dari produk oksidasi dengan air[6]. Asam nitrat murni tidak berwarna, memiliki berat molekul 63,01 g/mol, titik didih 83,4 C, titik lebur -37,62 C, dan karakteristik berwarna kuning-coklat pada umumnya telah tercampur dengan larutan pekat yang disebabkan oleh nitrogen dioksida terlarut. Asam nitrat sebagai pengoksida yang kuat (elektron aseptor), asam nitrat bereaksi dengan bahan-bahan organik dan reaksinya dapat bersifat eksplosif. Pabrik Asam Nitrat ini direncanakan didirikan di daerah gresik dengan kapasitas produksi 50.000 ton/tahun dan mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2028. Model operasi yang diterapkan adalah system kontinyu dengan waktu operasi 330 hari/tahun dan 24 jam/hari. Utilitas yang digunakan meliputi, air, bahan bakar, dan listrik. Bentuk perusahaan ini adalah Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan struktur organisasi dan staff. Dari hasil analisa evaluasi ekonomi didapatkan ROI BT = 39,462%, ROI AT = 27,62%, POT AT = 2,02 tahun, BEP = 44,92%, SDP = 12,83%, IRR = 18,78%. Dari hasil evaluasi ekonomi tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa, Pabrik Asam Nitrat dari Ammonia dan Udara dengan proses Medium Pressure layak untuk didirikan.
