Abstract

Heksamin merupakan bubuk kristal putih dengan sedikit bau amina, hexamine dapat larut dalam air, alkohol, dan kloroform, tetapi tidak larut dalam eter. Hexamethylenetetramine digunakan dalam produksi fenolik resin sebagai bahan pengawet, dalam produksi asam nitrilo-triasetat, sebagai bahan awal dalam produksi bahan peledak (Hexogen (Cyclonite), Octogen), sebagai akselerator vulkanisasi di industri karet, sebagai biosida dalam cairan pengerjaan logam. Pabrik heksamin ini direncanakan didirikan di kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Kota Palembang dengan kapasitas produksi sebesar 50.000 ton/tahun dan akan beroperasi pada tahun 2025. Model operasi yang diterapkan adalah system kontinyu dengan waktu operasi 330 hari/tahun dan 24 jam/hari. Utilitas yang digunakan meliputi air, steam, bahan bakar. Bentuk perusahaan ini adalah Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan struktur organisasi garis dan staff. Dari hasil perhitungan Analisa ekonomi didapatkan ROIBT sebesar 30%, ROIAT 21%, BEP 40.06 %, SDP 5%, dan IRR sebesar 19%. Dari hasil evaluasi ekonomi diatas maka dapat disimpulakan bahwa, Pabrik Heksamin dari Formaldehid dan Ammonia dengan proses F. Maclean layak untuk didirikan.
