Abstract

Trikloroasetaldehid Monohidrat (CCl3CH(OH)2), atau Chloral Hydrate, adalah senyawa kristal putih dengan berat molekul 165,40 g/mol, titik didih 97,5°C, dan titik lebur 53°C, yang mudah larut dalam air dan minyak zaitun. Senyawa ini merupakan bahan baku utama insektisida DDT dan digunakan dalam industri farmasi sebagai obat penenang, bius, serta penginduksi tidur. Pembuatan trikloroasetaldehid dilakukan melalui klorinasi antara etanol dan gas klorin. Pra Rencana Pabrik Trikloroasetaldehid Monohidrat dari etanol dan gas klorin dengan kapasitas 50.000 ton/tahun ini direncanakan di Kawasan Industri Krakatau Cilegon (KIEC), Banten. Pabrik beroperasi 330 hari/tahun dengan kebutuhan utama etanol dan gas klorin, serta utilitas seperti air, steam, listrik, bahan bakar, dan NaCl 25%. Perusahaan berbentuk PT dengan struktur organisasi garis dan staff yang memiliki 166 karyawan. Analisis ekonomi menunjukkan TCI = Rp. 686.523.485.570, ROI AT = 26%, POT = 2,7 tahun, BEP = 32,53%, dan IRR = 26,20%, sehingga pabrik dinyatakan layak dibangun.
