Abstract

Etilbenzena atau C6H5.C2H5 merupakan bahan kimia golongan alkil aromatik yang penting dalam industri yang memproduksi bahan kimia seperti industri petrokimia dengan kemurnian 99,7%. Etilbenzena diproduksi dengan mengalkilasi benzene dengan bantuan katalis asam dan katalis berfase padat yaitu AlCl3. Etilbenzena pada industry digunakan untuk pembuatan styrene, sebagai pelarut dan sebagai perantara dalam pembuatan pewarna. Pabrik etilbenzena direncanakan didirikan di kawasan industri KIEC (Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon) yang bertempat di Jl. KH. Yasin Beji No.6, Kotabumi, Kec. Purwakarta, Kota Cilegon, Banten dengan kapasitas 70.000 ton/tahun yang mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2028. Sistem operasi kerja yang digunakan yaitu kontinyu yang mana waktu operasi 330 hari/tahun dan 24 jam/hari. Utilitas yang digunakan meliputi air pendingin, steam, air sanitasi, bahan bakar, listrik yang mana berasal dari air kawasan. Bentuk perusahaan ini merupaka Perserioan Terbatas (PT) dengan struktur organisasi garis dan staff. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan analisa ekonomi didapatkan ROIBT = 32,01%, ROTAT = 22,41%, POT = 3,1 tahun, BEP = 40,52%, SDP = 9,72%, IRR = 20,09%, Bunga bank = 8%. Berdasarkan hasil beberapa aspek seperti aspek lokasi, sosial, ekonomi dan pemasaran dapat dikatakan bahwa pabrik etilbenzena dari etilen dan benzene dengan katalis alumunium klorida kapasitas 70.000 ton/tahun layak untuk didirikan.
