Abstract
PT Beton is a manufacturing company that produces products in the form of paving blocks and precast. The findings that occur are the activities of workers when moving paving blocks there are no work facilities. In the absence of work facilities and repetitive work activities can lead to the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. This research aims to design tools according to workers' anthropometry, thereby reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorder and facilitating moving activities using the Ergonomics and Design Thinking approach. The first stage carried out is measuring and identifying complaints of workers' body parts using the Nordic body map questionnaire, after that measuring and calculating the dimensions of the worker's body as a consideration for determining the size of the tool in accordance with the anthropometry of workers, and the stage of designing tools using the design thinking method which refers to the human centered design approach. The results of the research from 14 removal workers obtained a high level of complaints using the Nordic body map questionnaire, namely 75% on the left hand and right hand, the left upper arm and waist by 68%, and the back by 66%. Based on the anthropometric dimensions of the workers used, the 50th percentile value of standing shoulder height is 135.43 cm for the height of the tool, standing elbow height as a consideration of the height of the tool handle using the 5th percentile is 97 cm, the hand reach range from elbow to elbow with consideration of making allowances for the width of the tool with the 50th percentile is 68.21 cm, and the reach of the hand forward for consideration of the length of the tool is 73 cm. The results of designing tools using steel materials have strong properties that can provide security for product transportation, besides that the tools have a mechanism in the form of lifting and rack mechanisms arranged vertically. After the proposed tool is evaluated for workers, the final REBA score is 3 which means a low risk level.
