Abstract

The development of structuralism concept, from linguistic structure to settlement spatial structure. Structuralism concept by Ferdinand de Saussure has widely spread to others, such as Levi Strauss that has widely impact in cultural phenomena. Research on Sasak settlement showed that spatial structured followed in some social structure principal regarding Levi Strauss structuralism. Using ethnographic model can be observed that Sasaks culture always change which is not studied by structuralism. Thus, there is an opportunity to revise structuralism concept especially in relation to settlement.
