Abstract

ABSTRAK Hexamine atau hexamethylenetetramine pertama kali ditemukan pada tahun 1859. Hexamine berbentuk bubuk kristal putih dengan sedikit bau amina. Hexamine dapat larut dalam air, alkohol, dan kloroform, tetapi tidak larut dalam eter. Hexamine dapat digunakan untuk akselerator vulkanisasi, agen anti korosi, resin fenol, urea – resin formaldehid dan dalam tablet bahan bakar. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri pabrik hexamine direncanakan didirikan di Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Kota Palembang dengan kapasitas 50.000 ton/tahun dan beroperasi pada tahun 2024. Bahan baku yang digunakan adalah ammonia dan formaldehid. Utilitas yang digunakan meliputi steam, cooling tower, listrik, air sungai dan bahan bakar. Bentuk perusahaan ini adalah Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan struktur organisasi dan garis staf. Dari hasil perhitungan analisa ekonomi didapatkan TCI = Rp. 511,024,429,601; ROIAT = 15,74%; IRR = 15,49%; POT = 3,9 tahun; BEP = 56,04%. dari hasil ekonomi tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik Hexamine ini layak didirikan.
