Abstract

γ-Butyrolactone adalah senyawa kimia berbentuk cairan tidak berwarna dengan kemurnian 99,7% yang memiliki rumus molekul C4H6O2. Cairan ini mulai diproduksi pada awal tahun 1940-an yang ditemukan oleh W. Reppe dan rekan-rekannya di BASF. γ-Butyrolactone dijadikan bahan untuk pembuatan turunan pirolidin dan sebagai pelarut untuk polimer dan bahan kimia. Pabrik γ-Butyrolactone ini direncakan didirikan di Kawasan Industri Gresik, Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur dengan kapasitas 75.000 ton/tahun dan mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2027. Model operasi yang diterapkan apadalah sistem kontinyu dengan waktu operasi 330 hari/tahun dan 24 jam/hari. Utilitas yang digunakan meliputi air, dowtherm, steam, bahan bakar, listrik, air pendingin dan chiller. Bentuk perusahaan Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan struktur organisasi garis dan staff. Dari hasil perhitungan analisa ekonomi didapatkan ROIBT = 26%, ROIAT = 18%, POT = 3,6 Tahun, BEP = 43,51%, SDP = 26,88%, IRR = 21%. Dari hasil evaluasi ekonomi tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa, Pabrik γ-Butyrolactone dari 1,4-Butanediol dengan proses dehidrogenasi layak untuk didirikan.
