Abstract

Formaldehid merupakan bentuk seri atau rangkaian pertama dari aldehida alifatik berbentuk gas yang memiliki rumus molekul CH2O dengan berat molekul 30,03 gram/mol. Formaldehid banyak digunakan pada industri kimia, yaitu sebagai penghambat korosi, elektroplating, bahan pengawet, desinfektan, industri fotografi, kosmetik serta digunakan secara tidak langsung sebagai intermediet sintesis bahan kimia lain seperti resin urea, melamin dan fenol[1] . Pabrik Formaldehid ini direncanakan didirikan dikawasan Industri yaitu di Guntung, Bontang Utara, Kalimantan Timur dengan kapasitas 80.000 Ton/tahun dan mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2026. Model operasi yang diterapkan adalah sistem kontinyu dengan waktu operasi 330 hari/tahun dan 24 jam/hari. Utilitas yang digunakan meliputi air, steam, bahan bakar, listrik. Bentuk perusahaan ini adalah Perseroan Terbatas (PT) dengan struktur organisasi dan staff. Dari hasil perhitungan analisa ekonomi didapatkan ROIBT = 32,91%, ROIAT = 23,03%, POT = 3,70 tahun, BEP = 49,32%, SDP = 11,1%, IRR = 20,55%. Dari hasil evaluasi ekonomi tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa, Pabrik Formaldehid dari Metanol dan Udara dengan proses oksidasi layak untuk didirikan.
