Abstract

Waste problems increase with population growth, have an impact on poor hygiene and health, and reduce the level of welfare.“TPS 3R” is an effort to solve the waste problem in Kresek,Tempurejo Village, but the effectiveness and main objectives of establishing a TPS with 3R concept have not been achieved.The team from ITN Malang tried to find a solution withthe initial action by tracking participation in managing waste through the questionnaires and the results showed that the community already has an awareness of hygiene and health but still relies on TPS in waste management, the active role has not been running.So the team enforce the socialization activity by distributing banners, pamphlets and leaflets (containsknowledge of types andways to sort andutilizethe rubbish).The structuring of facilities, infrastructure and management at the TPS in Kresek will be the next target, along with the development of organic waste treatment and workshops to realize high economic value waste for the Kresek community.The expectation of this activity is rising community participation in waste management, good hygiene and health, and increasing community welfare.
