Abstract

Plastik merupakan sebuah produk unggulan dalam dunia industri, terlebih lagi metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan produk berbahan plastik sangat beragam. Salah satu metode yang digunakan dalam industri plastik yaitu vacuum forming, Penulis melakukan penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa variabel untuk mengetahui kualitas hasil, variabel yang digunakan antara lain waktu pemvacuman dengan lama waktu 10,20,dan 30 detik, kemudian variasi temperatur dengan 65⁰C,70⁰C, dan 75⁰C, lalu variasi jumlah elemen pemanas dengan 5,6,dan 7 unit, material yang digunakan pada pengujian ini adalah polyvinyl chloride dengan ketebalan 0,5 mm, penelitian ini menggunakan metode taguchi dengan hasil pengujian paling optimal didapat pada variabel waktu pemvacuman 30 detik dengan temperatur 75⁰C dan dengan menggunakan elemen pemanas yang berjumlah 7 unit.
