Abstract

Waste water that come from soybean curd industry has high polluter. Parameter that used to know polluter level is Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Phosphate (PO). One alternative to decrease the content of soybean curd polluter is water cleaning using sedimentation principle, development alternative is using sedimentation tool namely clarifier thickener. Coagulant CPAC be used to know the ability of clarifier thickener in decreasing BOD and PO, content from soybean curd waste and to know the difference the level BPD and PO, using PAC concentration and stirring different. This research uses clarifier thickener with coagulant concentration PAC 400 ppm, 500 ppm, 600 ppm and 700 ppm at 6 minutes, 9 minutes, 12 minutes, and 15 minutes stirring, using flocculation coagulation process. Titration be used to analyze in knowing BOD concentration that using clarifier thickener and to know the concentration of PO, it used spectrophotometer reading with 360 nm length wave. To know the difference between from some experiment namely PAC concentration and stirring time variation it used statistic analyze and ANOVA, correlation, and regression test. The research result show that lowest percent of BOD decrease after flocculation coagulation process is using PAC 400 ppm with 6 minutes stirring and the highest decrease is at 700 ppm with 15 minutes stirring. The lowest percent of PO, decrease after flocculation coagulation process is using PAC 400 ppm with 6 minutes stirring and the highest decrease is at 700 ppm with 15 minutes stirring.
