Abstract

DAMPAK SOSIAL DAN EKONOMI KEBERADAAN PERGURUAN TINGGI DI KELURAHAN SUMBERSARI, KOTA MALANG Niko Putra Indika Dr. Ir. Maria C. Endarwati, MIUEM Antonio Heltra Pradana, ST., MURP ABSTRAK Kelurahan Sumbersari yang terletak di Kecamatan Lowokwaru menjadi salah satu kelurahan yang menjadi tempat dari beberapa perguruan tinggi ternama seperti, Institut Teknologi Nasional Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang 2, dan Universitas Negeri Malang. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, di Kelurahan Sumbersari banyak ditemui kegiatan ekonomi perdagangan dan jasa seperti toko, warung, kos-kosan, rumah makan, dan lain sebagainya. Kehadiran perguruan tinggi di Kelurahan Sumbersari telah menyebabkan perubahan dengan bertambahnya jumlah mahasiswa dan staf akademik memberikan pengaruh pada dinamika sosial dan ekonomi di wilayah tersebut. Di sisi lain, tingginya kebutuhan akan tempat tinggal dan layanan komersial mendorong berkembangnya infrastruktur dan usaha lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak sosial dan ekonomi keberadaan perguruan tinggi di Kelurahan Sumbersari, Kota Malang. Adapun metode analisa yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu analisa tingkat capaian responden dan korelasi spearman dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tingkat capaian responden ada pada kategori tinggi dan sangat tinggi namun, keberadaan perguruan tinggi tidak berdampak pada kondisi sosial maupun ekonomi di Kelurahan Sumbersari. Endarwati, MIUEM Antonio Heltra Pradana, ST., MURP ABSTRACT Sumbersari Village, located in Lowokwaru District, is home to several well-known universities, including the National Institute of Technology Malang, Muhammadiyah University of Malang 2, and the State University of Malang. The presence of these institutions has contributed to the growth of various economic activities in trade and services, such as retail stores, food stalls, boarding houses, and restaurants. The increasing number of students and academic staff has influenced the area's social and economic dynamics. Moreover, the rising demand for housing and commercial services has driven the expansion of local infrastructure and businesses. This study aims to examine the social and economic impacts of higher education institutions in Sumbersari Village, Malang City. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing respondent achievement level analysis and Spearman correlation analysis. The results indicate that the respondent achievement level is classified as high to very high. However, the presence of universities does not have a significant impact on the social and economic conditions of Sumbersari Village.
