Abstract
ANALISA PATAHAN KOMPOSIT POLYESTER BERPENGUAT SERAT KARBON, AGAVE, RAMI DENGAN METODE SEM DAN XRD Alif Basharudin (1511025) Jurusan Teknik Mesin S-1, FTI - Institut Teknologi Nasional Malang Email : Ormoden@gmail.com ABSTRAK Perkembangan material komposit dibidang rekayasa sangat pesat, seiring hasil riset komposit yang mampu bersaing dengan produk - produk berbahan logam atau produk lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur permukaan pada patahan dan fasa kristalin dengan metode SEM dan XRD. Material yang digunakan pada pengujian ini adalah komposit polyester berpenguat serat karbon, serat agave, dan serat rami dengan jumlah tiga sampel dan variasi komposisi yang berbeda - beda yaitu dengan variasi volume serat karbon, serat agave, serat rami dan matriks 10:15:15:60, 20:10:10:60, dan 30:5:5:60. Analisis mineralogi dan kristalografi dengan X-Ray Diffraction merupakan salah satu metode analisis yang efektif untuk mendeskripsikan batuan dan suatu senyawa kimia tertentu dalam wujud padat karena proses preparasinya mudah, murah dan cepat. Kontrol kualitas hasil preparasi dan analisa hasil dapat dilihat dari grafik XRD dan dilakukan oleh petugas lab yang kompeten dari Laboratorium karakterisasi material Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November Surabaya. Pengujian SEM dilakukan untuk mengetahui struktur permukaan patahan yang terdapat pada material. Analisa SEM dilakukan di laboratorium mineral Universitas Negeri Malang dengan perbesaran 0 - 1000x hingga bentuk patahan yang diinginkan terlihat jelas. Dari hasil pengujian terlihat jelas bentuk patahan yang terbentuk sangat beragam, mulai dari patah getas dan liat, fiber pull out, dan debonding. Dari hasil analisa XRD bahwa fasa kristalin yang terdapat dalam material komposit bernilai amorfous, dikarenakan ada unsur hemiselulosa, lignin dan pengotor yang masih menempel pada serat. Nilai intensitas tertinggi di dapatkan pada fraksi volume serat karbon 30% agave 5% rami 5% dan matriks 60%. This study aims to determine the surface structure of the fracture and the crystalline phase using the SEM and XRD methods. The material used in this test is a polyester composite reinforced with carbon fiber, agave fiber, hemp fiber with a number of tthree samples and different composition variations, namely variations in the volume of carbon fiber, agave fiber, hemp fiber and matrix 10:15:15:60, 20: 10: 10: 60, and 30: 5: 5: 60. Minealogical and cristatallograpic analysis with X-Ray Diffraction is one of the effective analitycal methods to describe rocks and certain chemical compounds in solid form because the preparation process is easy, inexpensive and fast. Quality control of the results of preparation and analysis of results can be seen from the XRD chart and carried out by competent lab officers from the Material Characterization Laboratory of the Ten November Institute of Technology Surabaya. SEM testing was carried out to determimine the structure of the fault surface contained in the material. SEM analysis was carried out in the mineral laboratory of the State University of Malang with a magnification of 0-1000x until the desired fault shape was cleary seen From the test results it is clear that the shape of the fault formed is very diverse , ranging from brittle and clay fracture, fiber pull out, and thebonding. From the XRD analysis, the crystalline phase contained in the composite material is amorphous, because there are elements of hemicelluloses, lignin and impurities that are still attached to the fiber. The highest intensity value is obtained at the volume fraction of fiber 30% agave 5% hemp 5% and matrix 60%. Keywords: Polyester composites, surface structure, crystalline phase, SEM,XRD
