Abstract
Precision of area measurements photographed using off-the-shelf cameras from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is limited by the ground sampling distance of the generated orthomosaics and by the integrity of the internal constructions of non-metric cameras which does not fit for large scale mapping. Furthermore, instabilities of the internal components of such cameras could further degrade the precision of the resulting maps. Nevertheless, using so called on-the-fly camera calibration method and utilizing a modified version of the normal flying paths in aerial photogrammetry, we observed that the measurements precisions could be better up to around 1cm which could meet with that of precision of the RTK-GPS measurements about sub centimeter level. Therefore we firmly believed that conducting cadastral surveys using UAV is very likely possible in the near future. Keywords: Key Words: UAV, cadastral, survey, precision
