Abstract

ANALISIS KINERJA JARINGAN WIRELESS LAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ACTION RESEARCH PADA GEDUNG KAMPUS II ITN MALANG Joseph Orestis N. Pani, NIM : 1512901 Dosen Pembimbing : Dr. F. Raya Karanglo KM 2 Malang E-mail : josephnaipani@gmail.com Abstrak Kampus II ITN Malang memberikan layanan berupa akses internet kepada mahasiswa secara gratis yang dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan, seperti mencari referensi-referensi dari mata kuliah yang di dapat. Layanan internet yang di berikan yaitu dengan memasang hotspot/jaringan Wireless LAN (Local Area Network) pada gedung laboratorium dan gedung kuliah, pada setiap gedung hotspot dipasang di setiap lantai gedung hal ini dilakukan untuk memudahkan mahasiswa dalam mengakses internet. Dengan metode action research melakukan diagnosa (diagnosing), membuat rencana tindakan(action planning), melakukan tindakan (action taking) melakukan evaluasi (evaluation), pembelajaran(learning). Dari hasil analisa yang telah dilakukan selama 5 hari pada Gedung Laboratorium Elektro, Gedung Kuliah Elektro, dan Gedung Kuliah Industri kemudian dibandingkan dengan standar yang ditetapkan oleh TIPHON (Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Harmonization Over Network) dan ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union – Telecommunication). Pada parameter QoS (Quality of Services) yaitu bandwidth, rata-rata pada setiap gedung belum mencapai alokasi bandwidth yang diberikan yaitu 2 Mbps untuk setiap user. Pada parameter QoS yaitu delay yang menurut versi TIPHON dan ITU-T, bahwa delay pada Gedung Laboratoium Elektro, Gedung Kuliah Elektro dan Gedung Kuliah Industri termasuk dalam kategori CUKUP, SANGAT BAGUS dan BAIK karena nilai delay masih diatas 150 ms dan dibawah 150 ms. Pada parameter QoS yaitu packet loss yang menurut versi TIPHON dan ITU-T, bahwa packet loss pada Gedung Kuliah Elektro, Gedung Laboratorium Elektro dan Gedung Kuliah Industri termasuk dalam kategori SEDANG dan CUKUP karena nilai packet loss di atas 3%. Raya Karanglo KM 2 Malang E-mail: josephnaipani@gmail.com Abstract Campus II ITN Malang provides free internet access services to students who can assist students in lectures, such as looking for references from courses that can be. Internet service that is provided by installing hotspot / Wireless LAN network (Local Area Network) in the laboratory building and college building, at each hotspot building installed on each floor of this building is done to facilitate students in accessing the internet. With action research method to do diagnosis (diagnosing), make action plan (action planning), take action (action taking) to evaluate (evaluation), learning (learning). From the analysis that has been done for 5 days at the Electrical Laboratory Building, the Building of Electrical Lecture, and the Building of Industrial Lecture then compared with the standard set by TIPHON (Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Harmonization Over Network) and ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union - Telecommunication) . In the QoS (Quality of Services) parameter of bandwidth, the average of each building has not reached the given bandwidth allocation of 2 Mbps for each user. QoS parameter is delay which according to TIPHON and ITU-T version, that delay in Electrical Laboratory Building, Building of Electrical Lecture and Industrial Lecture Building are included in the ENOUGH, VERY NICE and GOOD category because the delay value is still above 150 ms and below 150 ms. QoS parameters are packet loss which according to TIPHON and ITU-T version, that packet loss in Building of Electrical Lecture, Electrical Laboratory Building and Industrial Lecture Building are in the category of SEDANG and ENOUGH because packet loss value above 3%.
